Even though I have never been to Uganda or Kenya, I have been praying, hoping, and talking about going to years. My church took a trip to Uganda several years ago. After my friends returned and brought home stories, pictures, and a passion to go back, I immediately felt a desire to hop on plane and fly to Uganda that day. However, I still am here, in Auburn, AL finishing out my freshman year of college.God has not lessened my desire to go; he has increased it causing me to pray daily that He will open the doors that will allow me to go to Africa one day. I want to go one day- but only when God is ready for me to.
From pictures, stories, and videos I have seen and heard, the children there have such joy in life and their sweet faces and smiles warm my heart!! God has given me a love to children and people in general. I love to meet new people and talk with them; I love to hear their stories and tell them mine; I love to spend time with children- teaching, singing, dancing, laughing. I think God has called me to missions. I believe that he will provide the means for me to go. It may not be this Summer, it may not be next summer. But I believe with all my heart that God has given me this passion for a reason. And it will not go to waste. I want to share God's love with people all over the world. I have begun here in Alabama and have made it my life long goal to spread it all over this fallen, broken world. God is a global God and he gave me, as a believer, eyes to see the needs of others in different countries. I will not ignore this, but pursue it. Through faith and prayer, I hope to be a part of fulfilling the great commission!
